Programme Overview
The Trust Kashmir Self-Defence Training & Women Safety Awareness Programme equips girls and young women with practical self-defence skills, personal safety awareness, confidence, and knowledge of their legal rights. Through interactive workshops conducted in schools and communities across Jammu & Kashmir, the programme promotes resilience, preparedness, and safer learning environments.
Objective
The Trust Kashmir Self-Defence Training & Women Safety Awareness Programme aims to empower girls and young women with practical self-protection skills, safety awareness, and the confidence to respond responsibly in challenging situations. The programme promotes resilience, informed decision-making, and a culture of safety in schools and communities across Jammu & Kashmir.
Methodology
Our training combines practical self-defence techniques with interactive learning, awareness sessions, and confidence-building activities. Conducted by qualified trainers, the programme focuses on situational awareness, verbal de-escalation, emergency preparedness, women's legal rights, cyber safety, and age-appropriate defensive techniques through demonstrations, role-play, and supervised practical exercises. The emphasis is on prevention, personal safety, and responsible action rather than competition or combat.

About Trust Kashmir Suraksha Kit
The Trust Kashmir Suraksha Kit has been developed to complement the Self-Defence Training & Women Safety Awareness Programme. It equips participants with practical safety resources, emergency preparedness tools, and educational materials to promote confidence, awareness, and personal safety.
Safety Scenario 01 – Stay Alert & Seek Attention
Situation: You notice a potential threat or someone following you while maintaining some distance.
Personal Safety Alarm: A compact personal alarm that emits a loud emergency sound when activated, helping attract attention from nearby people and potentially discouraging unwanted approaches.
Emergency Safety Whistle: A lightweight whistle designed to help signal for assistance during emergencies. Its loud sound can alert nearby people when immediate help is needed.
Safety Scenario 02 – Respond with Awareness
Situation: A suspicious person is nearby and you feel unsafe.
Emergency Response Card: The kit includes an emergency contact card with important helpline numbers and space to record personal emergency contacts. Participants are encouraged to move to a safe public place, seek assistance, and contact trusted individuals or emergency services when required.
Safety Awareness Guide: A pocket-sized guide providing practical advice on situational awareness, safe travel practices, digital safety, and emergency preparedness.
Safety Scenario 03 – Protect Yourself & Reach Safety
Situation: You are confronted with an immediate threat.
Self-Defence Awareness: Participants are encouraged to use the practical techniques learned during Trust Kashmir's training sessions to create an opportunity to move away from danger safely. The primary objective is always to escape the situation, reach a secure location, and seek assistance from trusted adults or emergency services.
